Are claims by those repair companies really true? Can you raise your score literally overnight by removing bad information? How about those offers of cards from major companies with no deposit or even a FICO score check? While it is true that you can raise your score, there aren't many reputable repair firms that can do this for you cheaply. Of the many that can, you have to know where to find them. Many of them are listed right on the Federal Trade Commission's website and listed by state. One thing to note before using them is that the FTC states that with the proper information, almost anyone can remove bad info, save money and learn how to do it easily. It's just a matter of reviewing your score, using your money wisely, use insider knowledge to fill the proper forms then mailing them to the bureaus. Doing it yourself will help you save money, identify bad info and raise your score.
